Afterdeath Trailer

Finally we have reached the second major milestone and are happy to release the Afterdeath trailer.

The trailer collects together many of the assets and ideas that we have been working hard on over the past five months. It has also allowed us to test some of the designs, tools, and code which will used in the final project.

* Note: the trailer requires the Unity3D web player plugin to be installed. If you don’t already have it you will be prompted when you visit the above web page. It is worth the effort of getting the plugin, besides Afterdeath there are many other great projects online that use it.

The trailer has been tested on a variety of machines in Windows XP, Windows 7, and Mac OSX using Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Internet Explorer. If you have any problems running the trailer please post them below and we will try to get a fix to you ASAP.

UPDATE: Sometimes on a Mac running OSX and Chrome, the Unity web player loads but then starts to flash wildly (The unity logo may be upside down) If you see this then try refreshing the page. We are currently trying to find a fix for this odd bug ;P

  1. Looks pretty impressive to me. Obviously a lot of hard work has gone into this.
A few observations: I’m not really a gamer, although I have a few on my iPhone and iPad, but I don’t really know what’s out there at the moment so I can’t tell how this stacks up against another games of this kind. At least it doesn’t appear to involve blasting away ad nauseum at anything that moves with automatic weapons, which in my book is a big plus. Only crit I have is that in the final shot of Abe, the modelling on his right arm and hand looks a little clumsy, especially around the elbow and fingers. His jacket/jumper also looks ‘under-modelled’ to me. Might this have something to do with the poly count for models for games?
Otherwise he, like the other characters, look very interesting and well constructed. Well done! I hope you find heaps of success with it! Cheers O

    • Thanks O.
Yep, there are a few issues with Abe’s model at the moment and he is due for a bit of an overhaul soon 🙂
